The Customer Success team at Starburst executes the following business functions:

  • Provide post-sale technical support for Starburst customers
  • Create technical user documentation
  • Serve as the initial point of contact for support requests
  • Liaise between customers, solutions architects, and the engineering team to iteratively improve products

FAST Enterprises

Software Developer / Software Implementation Consultant

The Fast Enterprises software developer / software implementation consultant position offers many opportunities to fuse software development, technical consulting, and analytics. In the position, developers work closely with SMEs, project stakeholders, and cross-functional team members to define, develop, test, and deploy an integrated DMV software.

During Jeff's time in this position, he had the pleasure of serving as the main inventory system developer for the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles (RMV). Responsibilities included:

  • Developed numerous application features using object-oriented programming principles in the .NET framework
  • Created an integrated system used to manage the flow and issuance of one million+ license plates annually
  • Retrieved data through T-SQL queries for use in the application at runtime and reporting purposes
  • User interface design
  • Gathered application definition and requirements
  • Communicating advanced technical concepts to non-technical team members and business stakeholders
  • Triaging fixes related to software bugs and data sanitization
  • Provided remote and on-site technical trainings / software demonstrations on a regular basis

FAST Enterprises

Software Developer / Software Implementation Consultant Intern

The Fast Enterprises software developer / software implementation consultant internship provides interns with the opportunity to explore the inner-workings of Fast and their implementation methodology. Interns learn the surface level details of (1) how Fast manages successful, multi-year engagements with government clients, (2) how Fast's products (GenTax, UI, and DS-VS) function and apply to the client site, and (3) how the application architecture works.

Responsibilities included:

  • Working on a team of ~ 25 employees and a cohort of Vermont state employees
  • Writing object-oriented code in the .NET framework
  • Writing SQL queries to pull data
  • Solving technical problems and handling tickets related to the implementation/support of the GenTax application
  • Learning the ins and outs of software consulting engagements and large projects from an employee and organizational perspective
